About | I am interested in how we all thrive or struggle in different ways due to the environment we find ourselves in. I often reflect on the legacy this struggle leaves behind. What are the impressions left on me or by me? While my forms take root in the natural world, my desire is to create sculptures in which vulnerability and strength are revealed together. As an artist, I strive to capture the essence of my own experiences. It is not hard to see the influence time spent living in Senegal, Spain, and the Caribbean has had on my art work. You will see the influences reflecting West African textiles and architecture, works of Gaudi. I work using a soft slab technique embossing the stabs with carved stamps and rollers. these patterns and details into each piece, they become the inner thoughts that tell the story of that day. I love that clay can be altered in an infinite number of ways.
